I was born on May 17, 1966 in Ypsilanti, MI. I grew up in Romulus, MI (about 20 miles southeast of Detroit) with my parents and younger sister, Rhonda. At a fairly young age, I realized that God truly loved me, and I accepted His son, Jesus Christ, as my Savior and as my Lord. This decision has profoundly directed my life -- anything I have accomplished is solely due to His grace.
After high school, I attended Messiah College in Grantham, PA (near Harrisburg) where I met my wife, Karen, playing volleyball(!). We were married on August 5, 1989. After college, I came to the University of Delaware to attend graduate school. Currently, I am a full-time staff person at the Applied Science and Engineering Laboratories, trying to finish up a Ph.D. in my spare time. My wife is presently working as a pediatric nurse.
When I do have some free time, I enjoy playing basketball, volleyball, softball, and occasionally soccer (although I'm not very good at it). I also collect coins sporadically. My main interests are in music -- listening (Christian contemporary, classical, jazz), playing (trombone, piano), and singing (tenor). Other interests include reading (especially science fiction) and video games.
