EDW has been compiled for various audio hardware under DOS. The most recent compilation of edw for DOS uses the Creative Labs SoundBlaster card and requires that the Creative CTMMSYS.SYS driver be loaded. Check your config.sys file for this driver and if it is not present, check your distribution disks for a copy. You may need to reinstall the audio software to get the driver installed.
If you have no audio hardware in your computer, we recommend using the most recent (SoundBlaster) compilation. Of course, the play command won't work.
